Heroin investigation leads to 2 arrests

Police execute 2 simultaneous search warrants in Easton.

EASTON, Pa. - Two separate search warrants as part of a drug investigation led to the arrest of two in Easton Friday morning.

According to police, the Easton Police Special Response Unit, Vice Unit and state police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) executed two simultaneous search warrants as  part of an investigation focusing on heroin dealing in the Ferry Street area of the city.

Around 6 a.m., officers searched 503 and 609 Ferry Street after police had received numerous neighbor complaints about suspected drug dealing in the area.

Officials said both residences were suspected of being involved with each other, and that's why the raids were done at the same time.

Nigel Jules, 31, and 23-year-old Krystal Shupe were arrested at 609 Ferry Street and each charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
