HS BOYS RUNDOWN: Parkland advances, Freedom falls at buzzer

Parkland reached the second round of the PIAA 4A state playoffs Saturday night with a 63-53 win over Ridley at Allen High School.

Nick Rindock had 17 points, Austin Beidelman had 14, and Just Zajko added 13 to lead the District 11 4A champion Trojans.

Earlier in the day, Freedom fell to Upper Darby 47-45 on a buzzerbeater putback by Quadir Rice, ending the Patriots' season.

Liberty's season also came to an end in a tough 62-60 loss to Williamsport at Montoursville High School.

Wilson and Reading also lost in the PIAA state 4A playoffs.  Wilson fell 39-32 to Great Valley, while Reading lost to Martin Luther King, 61-51.

The Notre Dame boys fell to Philadelphia powerhouse Constitution 66-28, ending the Crusaders' season in the opening round of the PIAA state 2A playoffs.
