Emmaus wins 24th straight District 11 Championship

Emmaus cruised by Stroudsburg 5-1 on Sunday to win its 24th consecutive District 11 Championship.

The Green Hornets led 2-0 at the half, then stretched the lead to 5-0 en route to the easy win at the Zephyr Sports Complex.

Emmaus advances to the PIAA 3A playoffs.


Moravian Academy saw its season come to an end with a 1-0 loss to Line Mountain on Sunday in a PIAA 2A playoff game.


Oley Valley won the District 3 2A field hockey championship on Saturday, outlasting Greenwood 1-0 in penalty shots.

After playing to a scoreless draw, Oley's Rachel Hartman made a big save in the penalty shot period.

Skylar Fretz followed by shooting high for the game-winning goal to give the Lynx the 2-1 edge in the shootout.
