IronPigs set to wear red, white, blue jerseys for charity

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - One local baseball team will be wearing its patriotism on its sleeves..literally.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs plan to wear patriotic jerseys during their game on Thursday, July 3 against the Syracuse Chiefs at Coca Cola Park in Allentown.

The commemorative jerseys will be auctioned off during the game, with proceeds going to the IronPigs Charities and the Victory House of the Lehigh Valley.

Victory House is a non-profit organization committed to addressing the problems of homeless men.

Thursday's game will also feature a 3-D post-game fireworks show. The first 7,000 fans in attendance will receive 3-D glasses for the largest post-game fireworks show in Eastern Pennsylvania.

This won't be the only chance for fans to see fireworks at the ballpark.

There is no better setting in the Lehigh Valley to watch fireworks this holiday season than Coca-Cola Park," remarked IronPigs President & General Manager Kurt Landes. "From June 28th through July 4th, we've got five spectacular fireworks shows to make you ‘Go Hog Wild', including our first-ever "Fourth on the Field" event on July 4th!"

Winning bidders of the jerseys will have the opportunity to go on the field immediately following Thursday's game to have their jersey autographed. Bidders not in attendance at Coca-Cola Park can either pick up their signed jersey at a later date or have it mailed directly to them.
