Jesus Guillermo Rivera nabbed in New Year's Day killing of Luis Medina in Reading

Reading police make homicide arrest

READING, Pa. - Police have arrested a suspect in one of two homicides on New Year's Day in Reading.

Jesus Guillermo Rivera was apprehended Thursday evening, police said.

Rivera, 26, of Reading, is being charged in the deadly shooting of Luis Medina in the 100 of South Third Street on Jan. 1, police said.

Medina's brother was also shot, but he survived.

Police have not yet provided a motive for the shooting.
