Joseph opening eyes at Phillies spring training

Tommy Joseph top catcher prospect

CLEARWATER, Fla. - When the Phillies traded Hunter Pence to the Giants last year, the centerpiece of the return package was catching prospect Tommy Joseph.

Joseph showed off his skills with the Reading Phillies last year and with the big Phillies this spring, and many consider him to be the heir apparent to Carlos Ruiz.

This year, he could be catching games for the IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park.  Jim Vaughn has more.
