Kutztown softball wins NCAA Regional Tournament

The Kutztown softball team won the NCAA Div. II Atlantic Regional Tournament on Sunday with a 4-0 win over Bloomsburg in nine innings.

In the ninth inning of a scoreless game, Katie Lynch hit an RBI double to give Kutztown the lead.

The Golden Bears followed that up with three consecutive RBI singles to provide the winning margin.

Dominique Ficara picked up the complete game shutout in the circle for Kutztown.

With the win, the Golden Bears (32-21) advance to their second straight Atlantic Super Regional Tournament, where they'll face West Chester in a best-of-three series beginning on Friday.

The winner of that series will advance to the NCAA Div. II National Championships in Salem, Virginia on May 23.

Kutztown won the Atlantic Super Regional Tournament and reached the National Championships last year.
