Last-second field goal lifts Steelhawks past Panthers

Evan Selman hit a 32-yard field goal with less than one second to play to give the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks a thrilling 49-47 win over the defending champion Albany Panthers Saturday night at Stabler Arena.

The win was the third in a row for the Steelhawks, who improve to 5-4 on the season.

The game figured to pit strength against strength.  Albany owned the PIFL's top defense heading into Saturday.

The Steelhawks, led by former Bethlehem Catholic standout quarterback Adam Bednarik, owned the league's best offense.

After traded touchdowns throughout the first half, the Steelhawks build a 43-34 lead in the second half.

The Panthers rallied to take a 47-46 lead with just 1:27 to play, before Selman hit the decisive field goal to win it for the Steelhawks.
