Laureldale man to stand trial in deadly shooting of neighbor

MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa. - A man accused of shooting and killing his neighbor in Berks County last month is heading to trial.

Bruce Muth waived his preliminary hearing before a district judge in Muhlenberg Township on Thursday.

Muth, 49, shot Bobby Goda, 64, on August 21 at Goda's home in the 1400 block of Park Place in Laureldale because he was upset about Goda's dog, Brodie, police said.

Muth is also accused of shooting and wounding a handyman working in the area after the man found Goda's dog.

Muth remains behind bars in the Berks County Jail on charges of first and third degree murder and aggravated assault, among other charges.
