Lehigh University investigating vandalism at diverse dorm

Officials at Lehigh University say a residence hall on campus was targeted by vandals.. And some students are calling it a hate crime against those who live there. WFMZ's Jamie Stover has more. >>REPORTER: The President of Lehigh University call it a "cowardly and hateful act.">> giancarlo sanguinetti: 4:24:47 Walls and windows were covered with yolk. In the back there was graffiti on the staircase to the entrance of the U-House.>> REPORTER: Words we can't say...or show on television.>>SANGUINETTI: 5:26:28 The N word might not apply to us. But the meaning behind it is they assume this is the house for a specific group of people, which is not the case. >>STANDUP: 5:36:20 Besides eggs splattered on that sign, evidence of the attack has been virtually wiped away. But what can't be erased is how the students who live in that buding feel tonight. >>SANGUINETTI: 5:25:18 Many of us couldn't sleep after that. >>REPORTER: Giancarlo Sanguinetti chose to live in the UMOJA House... >>SANGUINETTI: 5:25:56 This house is supposed to symbolize unity. >>REPORTER: But so far... he says it's represented just the complete opposite. >> SANGUINETTI: 5:27:25 Six years ago, around the same week.... A deer head was cut off and skinned and left in front of the house. >>reporter: The University says it will seek prompt disciplinary and legal action...once police determine who's responsible. In the meantime..students are taking matters into their own hands..peacefully >>SANGUINETTI: 5:27:02 We are trying to change the social climate.>>REPORTER: A unity rally is scheduled for eight o'clock tonight at the flagpole on campus. Anyone with information on who's behind the vandalism can anonymously contact phone or online. We've posted that information at In Bethlehem, Jamie Stover 69 News. >>> wendy davis: a Tulpehocken High School teacher is charged with having a sexual relationship with a student. 27-year old Nicole Kurowski was arraigned today on charges of institutional sexual assault. Police say the victim was a 17-year old boy. During the investigation police say they uncovered numerous text messages and pictures indicating a relationship. They say the two met at numerous locations across Bern Township... including Southgate Apartments and the area of Upper Van Reedoad and Route 183.>>>
