1 dead, 1 critical in Allentown's first homicide of 2018

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown police are investigating a double shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

Police responded to a call of a shooting in the 1100 block of Turner Street around 12:40 a.m. Monday.

One woman who lives nearby said she didn't hear the shooting happen but saw the aftermath.

"This is not a good way to start a new year…this is not fair," said Milagro Aquino.

There they found 2 men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital, police said.

One of the men died from his injuries at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest just after 1 a.m., according to the Lehigh County coroner's office. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police said the other man is in critical condition.

Investigators said they are still looking for the shooter.
