19 Allentown-area Jewish mothers chosen to travel to Israel

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - 19 Allentown-area Jewish mothers were chosen for a journey to Israel. 

It will take place June 27-July 4 with the Jewish Women's Renaissance Projoect (JWRP) and Israel's Ministry of Diaspora Affairs. 

The "Momentum" experience includes an eight-day trip to Israel, that stretches from the Galilee city of Safed to the ancient desert mountaintop fortress Masada, according to a press release from JWRP.

The JWRP says the trip is meant to inspire women to connect with their Jewsih heritage and transform themselves, their families and communities. 

The women chosen were: Alli Lipson, Kira Bub, Sara Hane Bub, Lisa Elis, Iris Epstein, Amy Fels, Ellen Gordon, Donna Iorio, Chelsea Karp, Fay Kun, Beth Kushnick, Jennifer Oxfeld, Nina Pinsley, Lauren Rabin, Ilene Ringold, Rebecca Silver, Stefanie Traub, Deborah Weiner and Jeri Zimmerman.
