2 dead, 1 critical in shooting at Allentown gas station

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police are investigating a double homicide in Allentown.

Allentown police responded to the gas station in the Airport Plaza on Airport Road around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a shooting.

There they found a 28-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound.

Police said a 36-year-old man was also found with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

A third gunshot victim arrived at the hospital about an hour later, around 2:30 a.m. Police said the 24-year-old man was taken there in a private vehicle. He remains in critical condition.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office has ruled the deaths homicides.

Airport Road was closed in the area but reopened around 6 a.m. The gas station was blocked off while dozens of investigators collected evidence.

One vehicle was towed from the scene.

Witnesses nearby said they heard about seven shots fired in the area.

A worker in the gas station told 69 News one victim was shot outside by the gas pumps and another was shot inside the store.

Allentown police, the coroner's office, the district attorney's office and the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force are investigating the triple shooting.
