2 killed, 1 injured in crash along Rt. 248 in Upper Nazareth

UPPER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. - Police are investigating a fatal 2-car crash in Northampton County, that left two people dead another injured.

It happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday on Route 248, between Michaels School Road and Pen Allen Road in Upper Nazareth Township.

Police tell us two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of an Acura Jonathan Morales Lopez, 19, of Bethlehem and the passenger in a Jeep, Brenda Zellner, 70, of Nazareth were killed in the crash. The Northampton County coroner said they died of injuries sustained from the accident. Their deaths were ruled accidental.

Another person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Route 248 was closed for several hours in both directions between Penn Dixie Road and Penn Allen Road, as police conducted their investigation. The road has since been reopened.
