People rescued from quarry

SLATINGTON, Pa. - A quarry was the scene of a two-person rescue by Lehigh County Emergency crews Sunday afternoon.

Officials say a group of four people from the Philadelphia area were trespassing at the Slatington quarry when two of them slid down a 65-foot slate bank.

Rescue crews had to use special equipment to pull them out of the water.

Officials say the two people were lucky to come out with only a few bumps and bruises.

All four are being charged with trespassing.
