2 separate robberies occur within hour in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police in Allentown are investigating reports of two separate robberies that took place early Friday.

According to Capt. William Lake, the first was reported around 2:45 a.m. in the area of 13th and Chew streets.

An 18-year-old man received minor injuries from an assault by three black males, who approached the victim and demanded his bike, Lake said.

The men got away with a black BMX bike with red handlebars.

About 45 minutes later, Lake said four Hispanic males assaulted a 25-year-old man in the 400 block of N. 7th Street.

The four took the man's wallet and the $200 inside. The victim suffered minor injuries, Lake said.
