2nd man charged with homicide in case of body found in trunk

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Criminal charges have been upgraded against one of two men already behind bars in connection with a drug-fueled homicide in Bethlehem.

Charles Yocum was charged Thursday with criminal homicide and criminal conspiracy to commit criminal homicide.

Yocum, 32, is already in the Northampton County Prison on other charges related to the killing of Joseph Goda, whose body was found in the trunk of a car in Pocono Township, Monroe County, on September 4, 2016.

Further investigation by police revealed that Goda was bludgeoned to death inside a home in the 900 block of East Sixth Street in Bethlehem two days before the discovery.

Yocum was subsequently charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, and hindering apprehension.

James Heimbach, 30, of Bethlehem, was initially charged with criminal homicide. He is awaiting trial.

Authorities allege the killing happened after the three men used flakka, a synthetic drug similar to bath salts.
