3 sentenced to time served in after-school fight

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Three Dieruff students were in court Tuesday to be sentenced on charges stemming from an after-school fight last year.

Joushten H. Rodriguez, Isaiah E. Alarcon,  and Brian C. Pearsall were all in court Tuesday and were sentenced to time served.

Rodriguez, Alarcon and Pearsall each faced aggravated assault, conspiracy, simple assault and riot charges.

The fight happened in October, 2016, about a block from the high school. It started during the school day as a disagreement cafeteria, prompting the two students to meet after school for a fight. A small group of about eight supports accompanied one student, while the other had about 50 supporters.

As one of the students appeared to be gaining the upper hand, police said about 20 people attacked him and another student.

Investigators recovered a cell phone video of the fight, which was reviewed by members of the high school administration and the police department’s school resource officer for Dieruff. The video showed five additional people assaulting one of the students, including Pearsall and Alacorn who were allegedly seen punching the teen, according to court records.
