69 News tours Allentown State Hospital for what could be the last time

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - 69 News got a look inside Allentown's shuttered state hospital for what could be the last time.

The hospital closed its doors nine years ago and has been empty ever since.

Members of the media were allowed to tour the site Thursday.

The state has plans to demolish the buildings and sell the property to a developer.

But there are efforts underway to save some or all of the buildings.

69 News' Bo Koltnow was on the tour Thursday.

He's working on a special series about what the city of Buffalo, New York was able to do with its own shuttered state hospital.

Look for his reports starting this Monday.
