Accused bank robber returned from Va. to Berks for trial

READING, Pa. - A man suspected of robbing banks in Berks and Lehigh counties has been returned from Virginia to Pennsylvania.

Maurice Emile was transported to Berks County after he was convicted of robbing a bank in Virginia, authorities said.

Emile left the Wernersville Community Corrections Center in South Heidelberg Township in 2011 and then robbed two banks in Reading and one in Allentown, authorities said.

Emile will face a trial in Berk and then return to Virginia to serve a 36-year-prison sentence.
