Accused wife-beater rejects plea deal

LOWHILL TWP., Pa. - The Lehigh County man accused of beating his wife to death has rejected a plea deal.

The attorney for James Albright tells 69 News that the deal was for a minimum sentence of four years in prison.

The attorney also says Albright believes he's innocent.

Investigators say Albright severely beat his wife, Carol, inside their Lowhill Township home last April.

Officials say James admitted he, quote, "Lost it" after Carol refused to check into rehab.

The trial is scheduled to begin on August 11.
