Alleged package snatcher caught on camera in Nazareth

Victims say person hit multiple homes.

NAZARETH, Pa. - Christmas came and went, and many homes around the Lehigh Valley still have that holiday twinkle.

But families in one Nazareth neighborhood are feeling a little post-Christmas blues, after realizing some of their gifts never made it under the tree.

"It was disappointing, very disappointing," said Ellen Abramo, when she realized a gift for her son, ordered online, never showed up.

It actually it did, but someone else snatched it before she could get it off her porch.

"I hope they are soccer fans because it was a soccer t-shirt," Abramo said.

At first, she thought it just never got there.

But her surveillance system came in handy.

About an hour after the package was delivered video shows a person dressed in a coat and what appears to be leggings and boots picks up the box.

A car drives by moments later.

"To see the actual video of somebody stealing from you is very unnerving," Abramo said.

Other homes in the community were hit, too.

Abramo said about 10 homes reported missing packages in that time span on a community Facebook group.

Nazareth Police confirmed several homes in the neighborhood were hit last week.

Abramo said other homes in the Eagles Landing community also picked up surveillance video, most of which shows a car that homeowners believe is associated with the crime.

"Walked off to a car that either picked her up or intercepted the package," Abramo said.

Abramo said she got a refund for the gift, but she hopes the snatcher thinks twice about taking what's not theirs.

"If someone was really in need you would hope they would go the appropriate route," Abramo said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Upper Nazareth Police Department.
