Allentown bowling alley up for auction

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A popular Allentown bowling alley will be up for auction next month.

The auction of AMF Parkway Lanes is scheduled to start June 5 and end June 7, with a starting bid of $650,000.

The building is located at 1630 South 12th Street, and is almost 45,000-square-feet. That includes a 4,000-square-foot dining area with a fenced patio area and fully equipped kitchen, according to the auction sheet.

The sale does not include any of the bowling alley's machinery, officials said.

A post on the Parkway Lanes' Facebook page says the alley is still open for business as usual. Investors have inquired about possibly keeping the building as a bowling alley, according to the post.

If the building does not sell at the auction, it will continue to operate as AMF Parkway Lanes, the post says.

Parkway Lanes was built in 1992 on 5.58 acres.
