Allentown Council plans to hold emergency meeting on homeless

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Members of the Allentown City Council plan to hold an emergency meeting in the next couple days to decide how the city will deal with its homeless problem.

The council talked about the homeless issue during Wednesday night's meeting.

The group of advocates for the homeless says homeless people need other options of where to go especially when it's as cold.

Members of the Commission to End Chronic Homelessness say they would like to see the city open buildings like City Hall to give people a place to stay when it gets bitterly cold.

There's no word on the exact date of the emergency meeting.
