Allentown High School class celebrates 75th reunion

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - It's event that you have to be in your 90s to even think about.

The Allentown High School class of 1938 came together Friday for their 75th reunion.

Eighteen members of the class had a luncheon at the Ham Fam restaurant in Allentown. They reminisced about the good-old-days and looked at some of the old newspapers from when they were in high school.

Of course, the classmates said a lot has changed in 75 years.

"You could buy a bedroom suit for $88. You could get a loaf of bread for seven cents. Gasoline was like 29 cents a gallon and houses, you could buy for $3,000."

The classmates said they are grateful to be able to attend what has become a yearly celebration.
