Allentown man, 37, dies after shooting in broad daylight

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The coroner identified the man killed in a shooting in downtown Allentown Tuesday.

Parris Graves, 37, died at the hospital after he was shot behind the 600 block of Chew Street, the coroner's office said.

Allentown police said Graves was shot in the body several times.

The shooting was reported around 1:15 p.m., and Graves died from his injuries at the hospital about an hour later.

His cause of death was from a gunshot wound to the body and his death was ruled a homicide, the coroner's office said.

It's not clear how many times Graves was shot.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Police have not named any suspects.

The district attorney's office, Allentown police and the coroner's office are investigating.
