Allentown man avoids trial, pleads guilty to homicide

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown man has pleaded guilty to homicide charges.

Bijorn Trent killed 46-year-old Juan Devarie last year on South Hall Street.

Family members said Devarie's daughter and her friends were attacked by three men, and they said Devarie was knocked unconscious while he was trying to break up the fight.

Trent's trial was set to begin Monday, but because he pleaded guilty, he won't be back in court until he's sentenced in November.
