Allentown man charged with possession of illegal guns, drugs

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown man is facing multiple drug and gun charges after a Vice unit operation.

Members of the municipal emergency response team and Vice unit arrested 28-year-old Jose Nicholas Garcia while executing a search warrant as part of drug investigation at 800 block of N. 7th St. in Allentown, early Thursday morning.

According to Allentown police, just before Garcia was arrested he was seen throwing a handgun onto sidewalk outside his residence.

After searching his apartment, investigators recovered two BB gun-style pistols, one semi-automatic 5.56 mm rifle, along with a substantial amount of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.

Garcia is facing three counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substance, three counts of simple possession and manufacture of illegal substance.

Additionally, he’s charged with one count of possession of illegal substance, a one count of illegal passion of a firearm, and one count of receiving stolen property.
