Allentown man jailed in connection with alleged $35 holdup

Police said robbery happened last August

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown man is sitting in Lehigh County Jail after failing to post $100,000 bail in connection with an alleged $35 stickup.

Allentown police charged Qyshon “Mook” Gage with robbery, theft and receiving stolen property for the alleged holdup in a Linden Street apartment building last summer. District Judge Michael D’Amore arraigned the 28-year-old Sunday morning, setting bail at $100,000.

The victim told authorities that he was in a public hallway at 315 Linden St. about 3:30 p.m. Aug. 15, 2016, when he was approached by a man he knew only as “Mook,” according to court records.

The robber pulled a handgun from his waistband and demanded the victim’s money, according to records. He allegedly made off with $35.

Investigators later identified the alleged gunman as Gage. Court records indicate he lived in the Linden Street apartment building.

Gage failed to post bail following his arraignment. His next scheduled court date is a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 15.
