Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski receives livability award

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown's mayor was honored with an award this past weekend. 

Mayor Ed Pawlowski received an Honorable Mention Large City 2017 City Livability Award Saturday during The U.S. Conference of Mayors’ 85th Annual Meeting in Miami Beach, according to a press release from his office. 

Pawlowski was recognized for his efforts to establish a Cultural Community Center at Alliance Hall, according to the release.

According to the release,The award recognizes mayoral leadership in developing and implementing programs that improve the quality of life in America’s cities, focusing on the leadership, creativity, and innovation demonstrated by the mayors.

This year’s winning cities were selected by former mayors from a pool of more than 150 applicants.
