ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown Police are investigating an apparent homicide.
Officers were called out to a house on the corner of South 11th and Maple streets around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
When they arrived, they found Robert Brandon, 39, lying in the street, covered in blood. Neighbors said It's like something out of a slasher movie.
Pools of blood all over the street, and smeared on the side of a car.
Investigators said when they got to the area, they rushed Brandon to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:06 a.m. Police are tight-lipped right now about many of the details of the case.
The cause and manner of death will be determined after an autopsy, which is set for 10am Monday.
"I heard that one of the gentlemen got stabbed," said neighbor Kathy Blasko.
"He got stabbed in the neck," said another man who didn't want to go on camera. "That's about all I heard."
Allentown police were on scene for hours, collecting blood samples and bagging evidence. Investigators say it's an apparent homicide.
"I'm astonished, I really, really am," said Blasko. "It's generally a really quiet, nice neighborhood."
Residents said Brandon was a friendly, nice guy who mainly kept to himself.
Neighbors said the gruesome crime scene has them terrified.
"Things like that just don't go on here," Blasko said.
In addition to the coroner's office, the investigation is being conducted by the Allentown police, with the help of the Lehigh County District Attorney's office.
