Allentown police go door-to-door for snow removal

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown police were going door-to-door Tuesday night in an effort to get residents to move their cars for snow removal.

Those who didn't move their cars faced the possibility of getting ticketed or towed away.

City officials say signs were previously posted urging residents to move their cars from certain streets so crews could remove piles of snow.

They say the door-to-door visits by police were a last-ditch effort to get people to comply.

Tuesday night crews focused on sections of Tenth and Twelfth streets.

So far this winter, officials say the city has been forced to tow more than 200 vehicles.
