ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police in Allentown are investigating an arrest, and whether force was justified, after a New Jersey man caught it all on camera.
Juan Bermudez was standing outside in the unit block of North 6th Street in Allentown on May 23 when something caught his eye.
"I saw them pull them over and saw lights go off and thought 'okay we probably got some action,'" Bermudez said.
That's when the Phillipsburg man pulled out his cell phone.
"There were 15 cop cars at least," Bermudez said.
Bermudez said he watched as police handled a man that had been sitting in the back of a car that was pulled over around 11:30 p.m. that night.
"They just pull him to the back on the floor and they guy who pulled him…kicking him with his knee. The other officer comes and punches him in the back of the head," Bermudez said.
Bermudez said the force didn't stop once officers lifted the man from the ground.
"Then pick him up and push him against car," Bermudez said.
The man in the video was later charged with disorderly conduct.
In the citation, police said Christhian Ramirez resisted detention by police in the roadway, however, the Bethlehem man is not facing any resisting arrest charges.
Allentown Police said they're looking into the matter to see if force was justified.
