Allentown police investigating drive-by BB gun shooting

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police in Allentown are investigating, after someone shot a woman with a BB gun during a drive-by attack.

Police say it happened around 9:17 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of East Juniata Street.

A 50-year-old woman was getting groceries out of her car when a dark colored, small vehicle drove by. That's when someone with a BB gun shot at her three times, according to police.

She was struck in the arm and torso. The other shot missed.

She went to get medical treatment, but police say she is okay.

Police say there was no damage to the vehicle.

Police say this is considered a drive-by and will contribute to the number of shootings in the city. The crime is also considered aggravated assault.

The woman did not recognize the person and says she does not know of anyone who would want to harm her.
