Allentown police make arrest in stabbing

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown police say a stabbing in the city last week was gang-related.

Waldemar Medero Cora is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the stabbing last Wednesday night.

Police say it started as a fight between two groups on Tilghman Street, between 9th and 10th streets. Two men were stabbed and taken to the hospital.

Medero Cora is charged with stabbing one of the men.

Court documents show he admitted to the stabbing and told police it was because the men were in rival gangs.

No arrests have been made in the stabbing of the second person.
