Allentown to celebrate July 4th with street festival

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The city of Allentown is taking it to the streets this Independence Day.

On Thursday, officials announced plans for the Red, White & Blue street festival.

The free event will be held along Linden Street, at J. Birney Crum Stadium. It runs from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on July 4th.

A patriotic pet parade will kick-off the fun at 4:30. That will be followed by performances from Radio Disney artists and the Xscape Dance Company.

The Allentown Marine Band, the oldest band in America, will also be on hand to perform.

The event will feature dozens of food vendors, offering street festival favorites like funnel cakes, cotton candy, Italian ice and much more.

Inside the stadium, visitors will be treated to a full routine from the elite dancers at Sharon Plessl School of Dance. Allentown native Scott Marshal and Marshall's Highway will perform the award-winning song "Letter and Prayers".

The night will be capped off by a 4th of July fireworks show.
