Allentown to hold Black History Month celebrations

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Black History Month celebrations are in the works in Allentown.

Organizers gathered Thursday to promote the city's fifth annual event at City Hall.

This year it will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The evening will include a panel discussion, community awards, an art exhibit, live music and a soul food reception.

It's free and everyone is welcome.

"We live in a community where all of the story matters every citizen, every resident in Allentown makes a contribution to our greatness," city councilwoman Cynthia Mota said.
