Applications for Allentown mayor due Friday

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Those interested in being the new mayor of Allentown have until the end of the business day Friday to get in an application.

Interim Mayor Roger MacLean said as of late morning Friday, City Council has received 22 applications.

City Council will go through them and select the next mayor, who will serve through 2019.

That person will replace former Mayor Ed Pawlowski, who was recently convicted on dozens of corruption charges.

Applications are due by 4:30 p.m.

The list of applicants as of Friday mid-morning are:
