"Argentine Tango Nights" in Allentown

VIDEO: Tango lessons in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Svetlana Howells fell in love with Argentine Tango more than a decade ago.

"It's completely contagious and also completely incurable," Howells said.

After a few years of taking her first lesson, Howells decided she wanted to share the bug with others and started teaching the partner dance.

She runs a class every Monday night at 7.p.m. at the Baum School of Art in Allentown.

But recently, Howells decided she wanted to open up the opportunity to others and reached out to the Civic Theatre in Allentown.

"I am making it my mission to bring Tango to our community for an uplifting and healthy experience that brings people together," Howells said.

Can't dance?  Howells says it’s no big deal.

"If you can walk you can Tango," Howells said.  "It's more about how you connect to your partner."

"Argentine Tango Nights" will be held June 2nd, June 9th, and June 16th at the Civic Theatre.

For $20, participants will get a Tango lesson, view a Tango film, and participate in a Tango dance, called a Milongo, afterward.
