Attempted luring of children reported

Students attend St. Anne Elementary in Bethlehem Township

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A possible attempted luring of children was reported late last week by Bethlehem Area School District officials.

As children attending St. Anne Elementary School were being dropped off near the intersection of Sculac Drive and Washington Street in Bethlehem Township Thursday, a male with a grey beard, "in a smoky brown, older model Kia" motioned for them over to his vehicle, officials reported.

Bethlehem Township police have been notified and will be providing additional patrols in that area.

Parents were advised to review safety precautions with their children and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.

A safety alert about the incident has been posted on the district's website.
