Avett Brothers booked for Musikfest

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Musikfest will host the Americana group The Avett Brothers in August.

The Grammy-nominated folk and Americana group will perform at the Bethlehem music festival on August 7.

Named one of Rolling Stone's "Artists to Watch" in 2009, The Avett Brothers have developed a loyal following thanks to their dynamic blend of folk, rock, country, bluegrass and pop.

Formed in 2001 by brothers Scott and Seth Avett, the group released its debut recording, Country Was, in 2002 and hit the mainstream with its 2009 release, I and Love and You.

A popular touring act, the group has entertained audiences at sold-out shows and major festivals throughout the nation.

In addition to touring, The Avett Brothers have appeared on television shows such as Conan O'Brien, the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Tickets for the show go on sale Tues., Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. to ArtsQuest members and to the public on Fri., Dec. 6.
