Battery retail theft leaves 1 suspect on the run

WIND GAP, Pa. - Two individuals turned themselves in after police learned of a theft from a store in Wind Gap, but one is still wanted on a warrant.

Officials investigated a theft of over $1,000 worth of Dewalt batteries from Cramer's Home Building Center, which occurred Dec. 20.

Police identified two suspects through investigation -- Bernadette Kureczka and Ariel Rogers, both of Tobyhanna -- who turned themselves in Tuesday. A third suspect, John J. Rogers, 43, is still wanted on a warrant for the felony retail theft.

Officials say the suspects entered the store, concealed and stole the batteries and fled the store. Kureczka and Rogers are in Northampton County Prison unable to post $50,000 bail.

Anyone with information on John J. Rogers is asked to contact Slate Belt Regional Police Department at 610-759-8517
