Bethlehem Fire Department promotes firefighters

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Some of Bethlehem's bravest are moving up in the ranks.

A promotion ceremony was held Tuesday at City Hall. Four firefighters were promoted to lieutenant, which fills all the vacancies in the officer ranks.

The fire chief said the department has seen more than a dozen retirements in the last year and a half, but right now, 13 new firefighters are training at the academy. They will join the ranks later this summer.
