BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A grand jury indicted a Bethlehem man Thursday on child porn charges.

U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger says Niyaz Sainudeen, 40, a citizen of India, but living in Bethlehem, is facing two charges of of distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography.

If convicted of all charges, Sainudeen faces a maximum possible sentence of 70 years in prison with a mandatory minimum of five years in prison.

Sainudeen was present on March 8 when federal authorities executed a search warrant at his residence in Bethlehem. Authorities found more than 100 images of child exploitation.

Officials said the same day, March 8, the defendant booked a flight to India. Hours later, police arrested him at JFK Airport in New York as he attempted to board a flight to India.

Because he is a flight risk, officials said Sainudeen will remain in custody until trial.
