Bizarre crash at Lower Macungie restaurant may have been caused by medical event

LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. - A trip through the drive-thru at a Lower Macungie restaurant turned bizarre Thursday.

Police were called to the Chik-Fil-A on Hamilton Blvd. around 3:45 p.m. about a three-vehicle wreck.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Janean Nothstein, 76, of Macungie was approaching the drive-thru at the Chik-Fil-A in a Ford Focus. Police say Nothstein may have had a medical event that caused her accelerate and strike the back end of a Toyota Highlander. 

Nothstein's car then traveled underneath the Highlander. This caused the Highlander to hit a Hyundai Azera, according to police.

Nothstein was taken to LVH - Cedar Crest for a possible minor injury. 

No other injuries were reported.
