Blood drive honors injured state trooper

VIDEO Blood drive honors injured...

UPPER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. - In Northampton County, a blood drive honors a state trooper who is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The blood drive was held Sunday morning at the Penn-Star Flight Center in Upper Nazareth Township.

It was organized after Cpl. Seth Kelly was shot and critically wounded during a traffic stop on Route 33 in Northampton County last month.

Organizers say the blood drive is way to show support for Kelly, law enforcement, and emergency services, while inspiring people to do something positive for their community.

"There's a lot of negativity in the world right now. This is a way that people can do something literally to save a life without expelling much effort," said paramedic Chris Erdman.

Trooper Kelly was recently released from the hospital. Penn Star was among the emergency agencies who cared for Kelly.
