Booze, belts and burns: officials give holiday safety tips

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Officials across the Lehigh Valley say they're working hard.. to keep the upcoming Fourth of July festivities safe.

Authorities from several forces gathered for a press conference on holiday safety in Allentown Wednesday.

"As I said earlier, the Fourth of July provides opportunities to enjoy many things but we'd like you to keep three things in mind, the three 'Bs:' booze, belts, and burns," said Brian Downs, the co-chair of Lehigh Valley DUI and Highway Safety.

Booze meaning don't drink and drive, belts meaning always wear a seat belt and burns, which fire officials say can be avoided by leaving the fireworks displays to the professionals.
