Boy Scouts to collect non-perishable items for local food banks

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. - Boy Scouts in our area will be on an important mission this weekend.

This Saturday marks the "Scouting for Food" food drive.

The Boy Scouts will be making the rounds, collecting non-perishable goods for local food banks.

If you received a door hanger, the scouts will pick up your donations at your home on Saturday. If you didn't, there are drop boxes set up at dozens of businesses.

Over the years, Scouting for Food has collected more than 3.25 million pounds of food for area food banks.
