Brothers, 11 and 7, reported missing in Allentown found safe

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Around 6 p.m. Tuesday night, 11-year-old Isaiah Sanchez and 7-year-old Emmanuel Sanchez were found in downtown Emmaus after being reported missing 10 hours prior.

Their mother said Isaiah usually leaves home around 7:45 a.m. from Delaware and Vine Streets in Allentown to go to a summer school program at South Mountain Middle School, just a few blocks away.

She said when she learned Isaiah's younger brother Emmanuel wasn't in the house at 8 a.m., she decided to go to South Mountain Middle School to ask Isaiah where she could find Emmanuel.

She said an employees at the school told her Isaiah had not been attending classes since the first day of the summer program, June 27th.

She also said the school never alerted her that her son was not in school.

An Allentown School District official said standard operating procedure requires a parent or guardian to be notified if a student does not show up.

But that official said they cannot provide any further information because they have not looked into this case specifically and cannot verify that Isaiah had in fact been enrolled in a summer school program.

Family, friends and the police helped search the nearby area for most of the day.

Earlier Emmanuel's father had asked the community for help.

"We looked everyplace that we thought he could possibly be," 'Leeroy Ingram, Emmanuel's father said.
