Caitlyn Leigh Clark charged in bus stop deaths

Accident happened last September in Hanover Township

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A Northampton County woman has been charged in the deaths of two men at a LANTA bus stop in Lehigh County.

Caitlyn Leigh Clark, 27, of Nazareth, Northampton Co., has been charged in the Sept. 10, 2012, deaths of the two men in Hanover Township.

Four men were standing at a posted bus stop south of the intersection of Race and Cascade streets, near Lehigh Valley International Airport, when they were struck by a Nissan Pathfinder SUV, driven by Clark, police said.

The accident happened at 3:26 p.m. Sept. 10. The arrest was announced Tuesday by Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin and Pennsylvania State Police.

Elias Tarabani, 52, of Allentown, died at the scene; Angel Bosch, 29, of Easton, died at St. Luke's Hospital.

The other two men at the bus stop -- Lawrence Oyster, 37, and Angel Guerrido-Lopez, 39, both of Allentown -- were seriously injured but survived.

Law enforcement officials reported witnesses observed the Pathfinder weaving within its lane while traveling east on Race Street about a half-mile from the bus stop. They said it swerved twice and crossed the fog line.

They said the Pathfinder swerved a third and final time, traveled off the road, struck a telephone pole, then ran into the four men at the bus stop.

Clark's driving privileges were suspended at the time of the crash.

On Tuesday, she was charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, four counts of aggravated assault by motor vehicle, four counts of accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, four counts of recklessly endangering another person, plus driving under suspension, driver required to be licensed, reckless driving, careless driving and staying within roadways laned for traffic.

Clark was committed to the Lehigh County Prison on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 9.
